Separate the gases, support ion transport
Inside an alkaline electrolyzer, the separator separates hydrogen generated at the cathode from oxygen generated at the anode. Its gas barrier and ion transport properties influence gas purity and electrolysis energy consumption. These functions need to be considered together when discussing a separator for a specific electrolyzer.
The Jinlun / Gongyuan brochure describes textile processing and surface structural control as tools for addressing wetting, ion transport, gas separation and mechanical support. The separator is therefore a functional material within the cell, with several connected requirements.
What the hydrophilic PPS approach addresses
The brochure describes structurally modified PPS separators with permanent hydrophilicity and resistance to acids, alkalis, high temperatures and organic solvents. It also describes high porosity and small, uniformly distributed pores. These are manufacturer descriptions; application suitability should be established using the relevant model documentation.
High-grade PPS fibers, specialized spinning and weaving, and hydrophilic treatment are presented as supporting gas separation, durability and electrolyte conduction. Micropore control and chemical bonding between support and composite layers are part of the reported development approach.
Turn material properties into a specification
For an engineering discussion, bring the required dimensions, cutting and assembly requirements, and applicable test conditions. The brochure identifies fiber structure, thickness uniformity and alkali resistance as quality control considerations.
Model-specific technical documents and mutually agreed requirements should define specifications and delivery criteria. The brochure provides a starting point for selection; its published properties are not independent validation of performance in a customer's electrolyzer.
